They've got a very difficult road ahead of them but you can only get better if you play against stronger opponents. They probably won't even make it to the Final 6 in CONCACAF but at least they'll be a better team when qualifying is over. (Assuming they beat St Vincent & the Grenadines!!!)

I still don't understand how Canada got the nasty task of playing St. Vincent in the second round. For the first seven groups, they drew the first round match-up and then the second round. Was St. Vincent pre-assigned to slot B4 (to be drawn against a team in pot C)?

In any case, I am not sure that Canada will get out of this match-up. They have had very bad luck in World Cup qualifying. St. Vincent was one of the three or four unseeded teams that scared me more than the teams in Pot C. Even if they do make it out of the second round, they will still not have an easy time making it to the final six. Of course, if they do, I think the race for fourth is wide open (even if that means a tough match against a team from South America for one of the last two slots in the World Cup).

I'm Italian living in Canada and would like to see the Canadian national team qualify for the World Cup , but I don't think that will happen. Canada has improved as a team but they still need more talented players and I believe they're lacking funds. I wouldn't support them as my team as Italy is number one for me, but would still like to see Canada qualify. Yes they have qualified in 1986.

I see it really difficult, as it is one of the worst teams in America, no offense. Ecuador didn't qualify for the cup this year and it had a good team, so I don't think so.
