Is pepper spray really effective?

Question

Does anyone know? I'm considering carrying it around with me, especially since I'm out alot on my own, like walking to and from the bus stop.

Also, where do you get it from?

Yes, it's a great thing to carry around...I always have mine on my or in my purse. I've actually been pepper sprayed before...a girl pepper sprayed the whole crowd of a party she was having to get people out of her parents house. It incited mass panic and about 40 people went running out of the house and down the street choking and coughing with our eyes burning. I've also tested it by spraying it against a wall only to have it come back at me in the breeze and it certainly catches you off guard and makes you choke and wheeze. It would do the same to a potential attacker and give you a little bit of time to run away or alert someone.

Yes it is. The stuff police use will put you on the ground. A few have died from heart attacks or ashma attacks that suffocated them. But tasers and such have triggered even more deaths. The present alternative is a bullet. Since Rodney King, police try to avoid using the billy club.

I am from Texas and know that someone trained with a lariet could easily capture most people who go out of control. Even the darts they use on Animal World would work. Many alternatives that have not been mention. I ancient times they often used capture nets. That would work. They tried it but quit trying to perfect it in modern times.The no. 1 problem is that they hire wimpy cops today. Little women, little overweight guys who are scared of violence. Need bigger cops.

Yes, it's very effective because if you spray it in someone's eyes it gives you time to get away before they can actually open their eyes and see clearly.
You can get it at many outdoor stores, gun stores- depending on what state you live in and what store you go to, you may need to show proof of certification for pepper spray usage; however, most places do not require this.

It is pretty effective. I know that is burns, from person experience, and no I am not so creepy that someone had to spray me. My brother has really crappy friends who thought it would be funny to spray it down my shirt. Sigh, what a life. Anyway, can't you get it in sports shops?

it is very effective, we sprayed a lil in my house just for fun and my cuz was throwing up and we had 2 open all the windows 4 like an hour just 2 get it out

I've never had experience with pepper spray but I did get the juice from a jalapeno in my eye one time.
Since it's the same active ingredient, I'd rather be tasered.

Absolutely. In the police academy, they required us to be sprayed to know what it was like. The only time it may not work is if someone is seriously high. Otherwise it will put most people down easily.

Pepper spray will incapacitate an attacker; they will not be able to see or breathe easily. You can buy it at a gun shop.
Since you are a woman, I would also recommend getting a pistol permit and carrying a pistol. If anyone attacks you you can shoot them.

I think it is really effective but if it isn't it looks like it is so yea um if you want to get some professional spray maybe go to the police station !!!

i think they dont sell it to the public everywhere
