For the Democrats, Edwards poll numbers show him as the best matchup vs the Republican candidates

Ron Paul is not good...

Thats because John Edwards is a white male that most people probably see as safe compared to Obama and Clinton.

And McCain does the best because he is strong with independents. Only registered Republicans can vote in Republican primaries and McCain isn't conservative enough on immigration and campaign finance laws.

For McCain, he probably cannot carry AZ, too many of us are too angry at him. If he gets past the primary, well that would be a different story. I am not sure which poll, but I thought Zogby showed Mit and Rudy as the Rep most likely to get Dem votes.

I am not sure which poll shows Edwards as the best match-up. It seems to change, depending on what is being said. I personally think it could be because he is the one Rep aren't focusing on, so they know min. about him. My Rep friends have said that Obama is the one they might be able to vote for.

Personally it is too early for me to focus on Dem candidates. There is soooo much research to do on my own candidates at this time.

Ron Paul would be the best match up because he would hold all the other candidates to what the Constitution says.
