Family law that is. I have requested that mediation fees be waived. Will the other party have to pick up the tab, or will the state.

Can being poor really be held against me if the other parent is the one who could change that with child support?

I work and already raising one child with no father, period.
Granted my job is short 2.5 hours of forty every week, but i am always picking up his slack and actually rearing his child.

If the mediator is a private company or counselor, then the State will pay your half of the bill. If it's a CPS mediator, then your half just won't be charged.

The fact that you're too broke to pay the mediators fees IS something that the mediator will take into account when determining custody etc - but if the reason is that the ex doesn't pay his child support, that will be taken into account even more.
