I found out today that my pregnancy has a chance of being ectopic. I was instructed to go to the ER if my shoulder hurt, had nausea, abdomen pain, dizziness or bleeding. I only have shoulder pain, and I had an episode of shoulder pain last night as well. I happened to sleep on my arm also though. I do not know what to do. Wouldn't I have severe pain in my abdomen if my shoulder got to the point of hurting? I am scared I will go to the ER and they will tell me that I need to terminate it before we know for sure. Please help , any one that can answer. The pain in my shoulder is not severe...it also hurts in my neck. Maybe it's a tension headache??

I had an ultrasound today. The results were basically inconclusive. THey are waiting on my 2nd round of blood work to see where my HCG levels were. They could not see anything on the ultrasound. They do know I was at least pregnant when I gave blood yesterday. Whether I'm maintaining it or not is a huge question. I just realized that they surely would have seen the hemmoraging today if I was, since I had shoulder pain last night. Right?

I would go ahead and go to the ER if I were you. The shoulder pain could just be from stress and worrying about your baby, but just to be on the safe side be checked out. If they can not tell for sure yet where the pregnancy is, simply do not agree to do anything with it yet. Make sure you know before you make any decisions. I wish you the best of luck with this situation.

With my current pregnancy at almost 7 weeks I had an ultrasound, and the doctor couldn't find anything on the ultrasound. She though I was having an ectopic because my HCG levels were high, so she knew there was a baby. That night I went into radiology and the technician found the baby in my uterus wil a heartbeat. I tell you this to give you some hope. I would go straight to the ER. They will do an ultrasound of their own. If it is ectopis you need to have it taken care of ASAP because if not the tube will burst which leads to severe problems. Good luck.

You should follow instructions and head to the ER. I would assume that any good doctor would do everything necessary without telling you to terminate the pregnancy.
They should be able to tell if you have a sac in your uterus with an ultrasound.
Every ectopic pregnancy must be "terminated" and will never develop. So, if it is an ectopic, the sooner you find out, the better. Waiting too long can make it more likely that you'll need surgery. If caught soon enough, you might get by with a shot. Just have it checked out. Better safe than sorry!

Sweetie if you were instructed to go to the ER if you had any of the symptoms that you listed, then that is what you need to do. You say you are worried about the ER wanting to terminate the pregnancy? With an ectopic pregnancy, there is no other choice. It involves having surgery, and hopefully they can save your fallopian tube. That is where the embryo implanted. The ER will contact your doctor and they will schedule an ultrasound. Take care of yourself. If this is an ectopic pregnancy, and if it continues to grow, you could die. The baby will not survive regardless. I am so sorry you are having to go thru this. Take care and God Bless

The only real way to be sure it is ectopic is to do an ultrasound.
I think that you need to schedule one ASAP with an OBGYN.
As for the shoulder/neck pain, it's probably just tension from stressing about this. From what I know of it, the nausea, abdominal pain, dizziness and bleeding are much more important symptoms. Try to relax and be positive until you know for sure.
Blessings to you.

I'm so sorry hun. Would an terrible factor to occur to you. The precise identical factor occurred to a well buddy of mine. She had her first little one via IVF after having disorders ttc because of scar tissue from an appendix operation. She then fell pregnant clearly however miscarried at 6 weeks. A week later she was once having unhealthy pains and so she went to the health center to be advised that she had an ectopic being pregnant. She needed to have her tube eliminated. She then had an additional cycle of IVF a yr later and he or she now has five month historic twins! So there most likely is wish. My sister had an ectopic being pregnant after which went directly to conceive clearly. It was once a couple of years later however she wasn't attempting in that point. She then had an additional ectopic after having her son, however went directly to have a bit of woman via IVF. So sorry in your loss. Hugs xxx
