is he in a stage of denial? yea he can apply for dissability and he can also be eligibal to get postetic (i dont think thats how you spell it) arms and legs. I cannot say i understand what he or you are going through. but is seems tough. and though it may seem difficult at the moment he should consider to think about other individuals whom went through the same thing and have overcome it. for instance there are such things as olympics for the disability. You should arrange a person to speak to him about joining or arrange for a disabled person who has overcome the fact to speak with him and support him...good luck
