My Grade is 75%, in COAP 114, my final exam is worth 60% and 60% is the passing grade, what do I need to pass?

40% of your score comes from the 75% you have so far.
60% of you score comes from the test you will take.

(0.40)(0.75) + 0.60x ≥ 0.60
0.30 + 0.60x ≥ 0.60
0.60x ≥ 0.30
x ≥ 0.30 / 0.60
x ≥ 0.50

So you need 50% or better on the final exam to pass with a final score of 60% in the class.

And every 5 additional percentage points on the test will get you an additional 3 percentage points on your overall score.
