rap1316: The judiciary interprets and carries out the law, the Supreme court interprets the Constitution, certain republicans didn't like their interpretation, wanted to control them, thats un-American

Stefano: the government should serve the people or be afraid of the people. The Judiciary should not be afraid or controled by certain Senators or certain Congressmen who want certain pet issues ruled on in their way such as abortion, that is un-American

Ruth: I challenge that idea of Judges destroying the Constitution. Legislative intent is determined by the Judiciary. Judges even Supreme Court Justices are not the pet of Mr. Delay.

Delay calls himself a conservative but he is really some sort of radical with no core beliefs that I've ever detected. He was in the exterminating business before going to Congress and, I suspect, picked up most of his values through dealing with rats and roaches. He's one of the genuinely disgusting human beings in American political history.

This is neither Radical or Conservative. This is in response to these Judges who think they have the power to legislate from the bench and usurping the jobs of the Senators and Representatives who are VOTED FOR by the people of the United States of America. Judges ARE NOT voted for by the people of the USA.
These Judges should never be given this power
and should be disbarred. If they want to run for the office of Senator or House of Representatives, then they should get off their high and mighty butts and RUN for the office.

I suspect that Mr Delay's Legal problems stem from his arrogant attitude trhat the government is there to serve him and what he thinks is best for him. Neither Conservative or radical values, simply selfish and childish.

Perhaps he should go back and take a look at his Bible
1 Corinthians 13:11 When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways

If you watch SiCKO the movie with michael moore you will learn that in France the government is afraid of the people. The people only have to pay for food and housing nothing else. Plus, you get a person from the government to do your laundry!

Anyway, this was done through intimidation!

I think it would be better if you put this statement in some context; regardless, you might recall that it is the proper role of the judiciary to interpret, not eviscerate, legislative intent.

In the context of the legislature being irritated about the Court usurping legislative intent, I would not consider that statement improper.

You are suggesting the "radical" and "conservative" are mutually exclusive? That it is impossible for any radical idea to also be conservative? That any conservative idea, by definition, is NOT radical? How fair and unbiased of you.

It sounds like you have a great question in your mind but need to revise with more carefully chosen words.

well the Constitution is set up for the Congress to control the money of the Judaical system and the power beyond the Supreme court. so if you have judges that keep ruling against Constitution rights and being overturned by the Supreme court. why should they be fully funded? it is an extreme cost to the government .

I guess Justice Souter better watch his back. Tom Delay has proved time and again that he's the biggest douchebag who ever served in Washington. He is a sick animal and everything he says is garbage.

I don't know what is more pathetic--Tom Delay or Republicans for making him majority leader.
