You cannot round it to the nearest hundredths. The only way you could is if you knew the next number in the decimal. For example, 1.938 you would round it to 1.94

You can't, because in order to do that the number would have to have thousandths in it.

1 is your unit
9 is your tenths
3 is your hundredths.

If you number was 1.938 then the 8 would be your thousandths. To round it to the nearest hundredths you'd look at the thousandths and see if it is 5 or higher. If it is then it's closer to 1.94 than it is to 1.93, so to round it to the nearest hundredths your answer would be 1.94.
