Whenever you buy a computer, even in UK remember that Windows is an American program and therefore the settings are US. Go, Start, Control Panel, Regional Settings and change from US to UK. Also, just tomake sure, I always from Word (if you have it) go Tools, Language and change to UK there too. Then you'll find you will get the £ symbol and the @ an " symbols when you tap the right keys.

Click on Start, then go to Control Panel.

Switch the view to Category View (top left of screen).

Double-click on Regional and Language Options.

On the Regional Options tab - Choose English (United Kingdom) from the drop down list.

In the space that says Location (further down the same page) choose United Kingdom.

Click on the Advanced tab (at the top of that same dialog box). In the drop down box, choose English (United Kingdom).

Click OK.

That's it, you're done.
