Here's the scoop. If you have insurance, the carrier goes in and "negotiates with the medical people. They in turn agreed to take a reduced rate. So for a hernia operation that would cost $7,000 to someone off the street that just walked in, the insurance folks only pay $1,200.

Medicare does the same thing. They will only pay a certain amount. Sometimes the doctors, etc. will make the patient pay the difference, but normally no. So something that can be changed immediately that would include millions is this.

Allow them to have the same discounts that the insurance companies have. Granted they have many lobbyist that pay money to the Congress, but it is not anything compared to what the insurance company saves.

A gentleman n a department store and i were talking when I was scoping out some clothes. He told me his sister passed away because she could not afford her blood pressure medicine and she didn't tell them. She also had a job.

So instead of "let them eat cake', we need something to catch this.

What will happen if we go the socialist way is the rich will go to doctors that will not participate in the program and just pay more and probably not that much more. The rest of the people would go to the "mass" system and wait.

Just like when in the hospital. You have a GP, who charges a $150 initial fee, then $90 a day to come by and look at the chat for a few minutes. Then you have the 'specialist" who charge in the same areea and come by and look at the chart for a minute or long enough to sign it and leave. They get money also. When the bill comes out they may get 40% of that. So that is the way it goes.

People who have stuff done with no insurance are charged out the world and have no chance to pay back. Whereas if it is done as the insurance lobbyist have made it for them, then people could afford it.

I do not trust the government to represent the people and feel that it would be an expensive nightmare. iN answer to your question, yes all deserve it. most had to pay $2,000-3,000 a year for it. So we need something to fix it and make it affordable

Also employers who hire employees and don't pay for workers compensation overload the system as those people have to go to the medical places and seek free help. Fix all this stuff and we can work it out, but with Congress forget it. Take care.

Um, no? People are going to think I'm a hater for this, but quite frankly health care is a service: men and women working in the medical industry perform this service as their job. That is how they make their living. No one forces them to do that, that is the choice they made. That being said, services must be purchased to be consumed and so health care is not something to be deserved, but rather earned.

A better question would be should everyone in the USA be capable of affording health care, the answer I think is yes. THAT is the problem, it is not a right, it is not about deserving health care, it is entirely about affording it.

Everyone in the U.S. should have health care, but it should not be free. If you are able to work, and you do, you should be covered by some policy. I think all the money that goes to Corporate welfare and Farm subsidies could be better used in helping this situation. The cost of health care is skyrocketing so fast that more and more working Americans won't have their coverage provided by their employers. Even the well educated with great jobs suffer health problems. Under our current, profit hungry system, Insurance companies try to drop them in a heart beat.
You can't compare health insurance to car insurance.

Under this administration OUR debt is growing by $1,000,000 a minute. WOW that would help pay for a lot of health care! This government thinks we should all be excited that we can buy cheap crap from Wal-mart, but what Americans need are jobs with health care and pensions.

Technically they shouldn't acquire "loose" well being care, which satirically expenditures taxpayers lots each and each 12 months so loose isn't the appropriate phraseology. authentic emergency centers are of direction a distinctive concern and are given to all without question. the priority is that many interior the medical industry have the do not ask, do not tell coverage and are reimbursed for their time and centers via we the taxpayers. uncertain why some think of that age makes a difference yet except there is a few strange regulation on your state, medical medical care became not meant for non citizens of this united states of america.

Yes. I believe everyone in the USA has the right to healthcare. Other countries have been successful at this but our country seems too concerned with spending money for violence and destruction rather than for life and prosperity. We need to take care of our US citizens. Proponents feel that their tax dollars will pay for this. Well, where does the TRILLIONS of war dollars come from. How is this money going to be paid back?? Also, premiums of working employees have been skyrocketing. This is just not a handout to the poor. Is it too hard to understand that healthcare for everyone would actually increase your take home pay and stimulate the economy??

Yes we do deserve health care but not national health care. Those that preach national health care--WHO DO YOU THINK PAYS FOR IT? Those of us that work--the taxpayer. We pay for those on welfare. Health care is not denied to anyone. I work in a hospital--you do not know the amount of people that ARE TREATED and are private pay(NO INSURANCE). I am not talking about Bill Gates, and others that are wealthy. I am talking about those on welfare, the poor individual and yes the illegal alien. Alot of the larger cities-Ft Worth,Dallas,Houston,San Antonio, Chicago,Oklahoma City,Tulsa, etc have hospital that are funded by the state. They are for those that can't afford health care. This includes children hospitals also.Who pays for these also--the taxpayer. And most of the people that work in these hospitals--ones that do what I do--make more money than I do.

of course and worldwide as well i dont think healthcare or education should be run like a buisness, they are basic needs that any decent country should ensure that everyone has. we should all be able to get decent health care including dental care(and vision) and we should all be able to get an education including the option of college reguardless of how much money we have.

Well france, Britain even cuba, countries that has a smaller economy than us, has universal health care, so why cant we? O i kno why, because big insurance companies will pay out any politician or media group that tries to bring up the idea. Good for them, their CEO's are billionaires and all they have to do is deny a person the proper treatment that he/she needs. Well done America, its the 21st goddam century, when u walk into a hospital a doctor should treat u,not call ur insurance company to see if he is allowed to treat u.

No,

Health care is not a "right" it is a responsibility. Individuals are responsible to ensure they are healthy and have insurance of some kind.

I will never, ever ever ever believe that it is the states responsibility to care of me. That is my responsibility. Guess what i got a great job so i could get health insurance. I pay for it but it is awesome.

100% covered. People need to accept the fact the individuals are responsible. If you can't man up and take care of your self or your family then you should move to Canada. Because the American way is self reliance.

Using your logic, the government should pay for my car insurance. My flood insurance. Everything that has to do with costing people money should be providing by the government. Cause they know how to spend money better than me.

If i wanted to pay for my neighbor's health care i would walk to his mail box and pay his bills.

There is not enough money in this country to provide health care for everyone.
