(3m - n)(1 - 5)
(- 4) (3m - n)
4 (n - 3m)

you distribute the 5 to the n and -3m

(3m-n)+(5n-15m)

then you distribute the plus to the (5n-15m)

3m-n+5n-15m

then you collect terms

3m-15m= -12m
-n+5n=4n


the answer is -12m+4n


and to the people that said 4(n-3m) that's also right but the simplified version is -12m+4n. because you can distribute the 4 to the n and negative 3 making it -12m+4n. It's not wrong..just the answer I gave is simplified and my math teachers hate, absolutely hate when we do not simplify all the way.

i dont know how to "factor" it. But what i did was add like terms.

3m - n + 5n - 15m
=
-12m + 4n
