Sequestered means 'kept apart'. Quarantine has a similar meaning with regards to the Health Department. It generally means the person is physically isolated to prevent the spread of an infectious disease. Sequestered in often used when the court orders members of a jury to remain out of contact with everyone during a trial.

She is not allowed to communicate about the particular issues of whatever issue she is involved in....sequestering can take extreme forms in which juries are forbidden any outside contact...or can take minor forms in which a simple promise not discuss particualrs is acceptable.

It means she has something that could easily be passed on to other people... very contagious... they think that she may infect lots of people, so they want her to stay away from others until she is better.

did your friend recently go to get a food handlers card and take a tb test to get it.....b/c this means she tested positive for tb most likely....
