A lot of folks I respect have reason to believe it and their model of the solar system and Earth seems to match observations about the curve of the Earth, the seasons, eclipses, positions and movements of background stars, observations of other planets like Mars, photos of Earth from the moon, etc.

I must have read an astronomy textbook, or two, I guess.
:-)
Seriously... what is the question?
How do I know I live on a planet? Pure geometry. You can walk around it and it appears to be a pretty good sphere. It is a little bit harder to measure if all you have is a stick and an angle than with a satellite in orbit, but the principles on how to do it were understood 2500 years ago.
How do I know I live in a solar system: by observing the sky and charting the orbits of the other planets. That was done roughly 400 years ago.
In the end it is not that hard... you just have to keep your eyes open.

Unless someone proves the reality to be wrong, I will continue to believe that we are on a planet in a solar system.

ive seen the sun once or twice, ive seen other planets, ive seen us move around our solar mass-the sun. therefore we live on a planet in a solar system.

I was told it when I was about 4 years old. It made sense then, and I have never heard or seen anything, in my life as a student, or a scientist, to make me think otherwise.

I live in an small apartment. Its so small the mice are hunch-backed. Its so small I want to buy a Mini Cooper just for the leg room. Its so small I can brush my teeth, pee, cook my breakfast without getting out of bed.
