What should the Rockets do as the season progresses?

I am a huge Rockets fan and have big expectations for them, this is a team that has no identity, I think that's the first thing they need to figure out. The other problem is that the role players have not stepped up, mike James, Steve Francis, luis scola, bonzi wells all need to step up when they play.

I also think as the season progresses they need to develop a leader some say its Yao and others say its T mac???

Overall we know they will make the playoffs but with all this depth that T Mac asked for at the end of the playoffs last year will the Rockets have enough to get past the first round?? It is hard to tell the way they have been playing.

stay healthy. trade for a real point guard. they're so close to becoming an elite team... really its all they need. good luck with the season.

p.s. i'm not a rockets fan, would just like to see t-mac and yao get out of the first round and be the team everyone thought they could be on paper.

I don't know what wen wrong recently.
I mean, they started out the season great, 6-1, and all of a sudden they just started losing games. but I think they can get better, they need to focus more on defense and at least try to win against some of the worse teams.

The mean thing is to stay healthy, with Yao Ming and T-Mac, I think they can still get back there.

Win more games?

Just kidding, I mean obviously that's what they have to do but in order to do it they have got to get back to a defensive philosophy. Right now Yao is right, they are playing soft (for record though so is he). If they can become more aggressive on that side of the floor then maybe it will spark their offense. They also desperatly need a point guard.

I don't think they can win with 3 non-scoring threats in the starting lineup.

One of them, either Alston, Bartier, or Hayes, has to come off the bench.

Since Francis is still not in game shape, Alston probably has to stay.

Bartier is too important on defense to replace with Bonzi so I guess it has to be Hayes coming off the bench for Scola.

Anyway, that is what I think would help the team. No messages from Adelman asking me for my thoughts on the subject yet though. I'll keep checking.
