I am helping my brother in law put together a Christmas party at his home. It's for the family (all adults) and his independent living administrator. We have hot drinks (no alcohol), snacks and music covered.
I was wondering about games. Can you share your opinions or suggestions for party games or Christmas party activities.

The right left game: Everyone sits in a circle close enough to pass something. Give a couple of people in the circle a gift then read a story you come up with, use the words left and right as often as possible, each time to you say right they pass the gift one place to the right, each time you say left they pass the gift to the left. At the end of the story the people holding the gifts get to keep them.
Necklace game: Get some ribbon and jingle bells, make necklaces long enough to easily slip over anyone's head, the rules are simple, if you get caught saying the magic word who ever catches you can steal your necklace (if you have more than one they get them all), but losing your necklace(s) doesn't put you out you can steal someone elses if they you catch them saying the magic word. At the end of the party the one with the most necklaces gets a prize.
Name that Carol: Take lines from well known carols, speak them don't sing them and let the players try to name the carol. I used candy canes as point markers so the person with the most candy canes got the prize.
Prizes are easy, visit the $ store, they usually have lots of pretty nice Christmas decor and neat boxes and bags, you can usually get a nice gift and wrapping for less than$5.00. Good luck, have fun, and Merry Christmas.

This isn't a game, but is a nice activity. Buy a journal type book or a scrapbook and take a photo of everyone. Give them one page to write their favorite memory of the year on. Then, get them out each Christmas to review the good times! This is also nice if you have elderly family members. Their favorite memories are written down for future generations. When the photos are developed, make sure to match the photo with the memory.

1.)Dirty Santa: ALWAYS a hoot
2.)Memory: No not the card game; look at a certain room and concentrate on it for 5 minutes. Then someone goes into the room and changes something about it.

Love the game where you pass an orange or rubber ball to another using your chin and neck to hold the ball. (no hands)This causes lots of laughter and gets people talking. I mean you can't stay a stranger with someone you have been that close to.

at my house we have found that games meant for little kids and teenagers r always the funnest. we like to play Apples to Apples (adult version. a little more challenging) and Uno Attack, Dance Dance Revolution and all the stuff like that. its so much fun to act like a little kid again and just be silly and that is what really makes the games fun

Trivia Pursuit is ALWAYS great because even if you don't want to play you end up playing anyway because you can't resist shouting out!!!
