During peace time, how can freedom of speech be curtailed:?

you guys need to calm down the fact is there are legal ways to curtail it....this was a question from my government teacher....for you all to act the way you did and consider me a communist of sorts for even mentioning it...is funny since some of you mentioned being liberal and ...no it wasn't a threat.

you guys need to be smart about your answers thinking and knowing what we're talking about and not going off blind faith is part of being a liberal and a democrat

It is clear that speech which is meant to incite violence is not a protected form of speech. Other types of speech that could create a major risk to the public (like shouting fire in a crowded theater) are also not protected under the first amendment. Hate speech where you make threatening comments toward a person or group on the basis of race, religion, sexual orientation, gender, or nationality also is not protected. The Supreme Court has ruled that certain types of speech are not protected under the first amendment; however, most types of speech are.

curtailed. ?? whatever do you mean. it's freedom of speech ... how can you curtail it... im a dumb lib and i'm going to scream as loudly as i want so i can prove that i am smart. no end to freedom of speech. there is no responsibility that comes with that.
