Nope, I don't honk at other drivers, anymore. I have found it doesn't do any good even if it get my frustration off.

The last time I honked was at a friend that I waved to. She saw me and waved back. ;+)

Here where I live in Texas people just don't honk their horn while driving unless there is a dangerous situation....ie; someone backing up in front of you etc. I don't know if it is still the same now, but when I lived in Indianapolis, Indiana
30 years ago people (including me) honked their horn the second the light turned green if a person didn't move. They honked for everything or anything. My Dad was the worst and honked constantly. Here, most times a person can sit through an entire turn signal and no one will honk....so patient.

I only honk if it's a safety issue or they fell asleep at a light that turned green. The horn was not designed to be a voice for anger.
When I go shopping I try to maintain a strong inner calm . Sometimes I even manage a very jolly mood when I shop.

I agree with Eve- People here in Texas are just generally a friendly bunch, some honk and wave hello though.

I don't remember the last time I honked at someone. I only use the horn if they pull out without seeing me or are about to hit me or something else, to avoid an accident. I'm generally not in a hurry when I have to go shopping, so no road rage here.

Try this one again, lol, power went off for 5 minutes this time, lol.

I don't have any road rage in me at all. The last time that I honked my horn was when I saw someone that I knew. Other than that the ONLY time that I will honk my horn is if someone is getting close to hitting me, it is just a warning to let them know in case they didn't see me. Besides, road rage will get you killed.

The only reason you should use your car horn is to alert someone about a hazard on the road. Car horns are for emergencies only. When I hear a car horn, I look to see where it is coming from because I am instinctively looking for where the emergency is and/or the accident about to happen. If I looked and saw a guy honking at a girl for no good reason I would be annoyed. The only time someone has honked at me was because my car was about to get rear-ended on the road!

Good question. I can't remember the last time I honked my horn to someone. But I think they were distracted waiting for the light to go green that when it did go green they were not aware that it had changed. I believe that event was 2 to 3 months ago. I try to drive the back roads going to work. Its more relaxed and less tendencies of encountering people giving half of peace symbols.

Last night at the mall! I don't honk much either, but I was driving across a cross street in the parking lot and the big long truck in front of me stopped, leaving me stuck blocking the street. She was waiting on a parking spot. That was bad enough, but then she started to back up! She was headed right toward me, so I honked to let her know I was back there, and she rolled down her window and yelled at me!!!!

I've been thinking of you daiseymae and keep forgetting you changed your avatar. I uaually have my grandaughter in the car and as I've told her, a car is a means of getting from point A to point B. If someone is in a bigger hurry than me, I let them pass and the only time I honk the horn is when I lock the car with the auto lock on the key.

I honked my horn when a car started backing up in my direction in the store's parking lot. Just a tiny little beep beep. No, I wasn't mad. It was only a warning to the other driver that I was back there.
