nope, just unlucky-in-love.

he had 5 wives in all, 4 out of the 5 ended in divorce, but he last wive stayed with him until his death in 1986.

i guess that's why he always played a bachelor.

(i secretly think he was in love with Sophia Loren, they dated for a little while, but she probably wouldn't marry him).

Uh, bisexual, go figure. He had a live in friendship, Randolph Scott. Just 'friends' they say. Married Dyan Cannon, latter in life, had a child together. Artificial semenation, that was posted in gossip mags of the time.
