This is an idiots question to ask since no one is totally unelectable however for the sake of debate I will answer this. The Democrat that would be easiest to defeat on a ballot would be someone not heard of much like Joe Biden, Chris Dodd, Mike Gravel, and Dennis Kucinich. Those guys have easily been left in the dust by Hilary, Barack, and even in some margins Bill Richardson.

Be careful of what you wish for! Obama is (1) very good-looking, (2) comes out of left field and (3) we don't know much about him because he doesn't have a long record in politics. In other words, he is the Democratic version of GW Bush in 2000.

As parties go, not candidates, the Democrats already have a good lead in the '08 election. The election is theirs to lose. And several of the Democratic candidates are resonating with Democratic voters better than -any- of the Republican candidates are with Republican voters. (But most people aren't even really paying attention yet.)

When people are upset with government, with the way they perceive the nation is going, they vote for a change. The Democrats may not be much better, only mildly less corrupt than the Republicans these days, but they represent change!

Hard to say--he is sure gaining momentum. Oprah is sure pulling out all the stops to buy him a ticket!

I think a Mike Huckabee Rudy Guiliani ticket (that order would be my preference, but I suppose I would settle for them flipped) would be able to make a race of it with Hilary. Rudy could go toe-to-toe against her with New Yorkers, while Huckabee supporters would probably be more than willing to dish the dirt on her from back in the Arkansas days.

Why do you think Obama is unelectable? I personally think Hilary is more unelectable than Obama is. The key to the election is independents, and I believe more independents will vote for Obama than they will for Hilary.

He has *charisma* and makes broad statements about making changes that have no substance, so he's electable to your average sheeple.

if you actually look at his policies, though, he's unelectable. Unfortunately, he would probably win the general election against pretty much anyone. He's easily the hardest Democrat to beat.

Every time this is tried, it seems to fail.

Republicans really wanted Bill Clinton. They thought the same thing.
Look at how Democrats felt about "that actor", Ronald.
