It's not like cooking crayfish straight out of the sea into a pot Wally. We used to do that in Durban. Snorkel and eat.

Think of eating fried feathers, and a squawking chicken.

You could put it in with the french fries.

There is pan fried and then there is deep fried where it is totally immersed in hot oil. Like a deep fat fryer. Where as a pan has a lot less grease and needs to be turned over.

In restaurants the deep fat fryers are also sealed like a pressure cooker. It takes only 10 to 12 minutes to completely fry a whole chicken.

My old iron chicken frier is about 10" across and 6" deep for lots of oil. Sorta like a greased chicken I'd say, the more lard in the frier the better to hear granny tell it.

I used a 'Fry Daddy' deep fryer that I used to cooked chicken in. It was filled with oil and the chicken put 'deep down' in it. I gave it away when I started baking or grilling chicken.

I couldn't help it Wally! Sorry. It was too irresistible to let go of and I've got an over active imagination today.
