Ok, My sister & her husband got pregnant about Oct.. She was a month in a half along when she found out & went to the doctors. The doc did a urine test & came out positive then took a blood test because my sister started to have cramps & bleeding. The pregnancy hormone was very low. So the doctor said most likely she is having a miscarriage. Doc say to wait for a period & then try again.
My sister was devastated but still kept taking her prenatal pill & folic acid pills. Now here in Dec she found out she is pregnant again. Doc says by the time of when they thought the miscarriage was she is about 7 1/2 weeks. We did the calculations & we believe she never lost the baby.
Did she have a miscarriage or did the baby never die?Or did they get pregnant right after?Or is there that possibility that she had twins & only one of the babies died & so her body thought she was having a miscarriage but she wasn't. Tell me ur thoughts on this....

Thanks
:)

WOW it's like deja vu for me!! The only thing different between your story and mine is that in mine there was no cramping. So heres the story......

In mid Oct. 2005, my cousin's wife had a positive pg test. At the end of oct. she had some spotting and went in to the family doctor, and he told her that she had a m/c. I got pg in Oct. and the first of Nov. I had a positive pg. test and was due July 14th. Then in Dec. the cousin's wife was feeling morning sickness and found out that she was indeed pg and the dr's gave her a due date of July19th! She had some bleeding but didn't cramp, and we ALL believe that she had never lost that baby. It had just rolled around to when her period had been and she had some bleeding. What never made sense to me was that her due date was after mine when she had gotten the positive test at about the same time I conceived. Plus if she had m/c when the dr. said she did, and then re-conceived she would have been due in August instead of July.

so for my opinion.... if the bleeding never got heavy and only spotted then she is still carrying the same baby. And yes she may have been carrying twins and lost one and is carrying the other. I have heard of that happening, including one of my co-workers, who was told she had m/c but when she went in to have blood test to make sure her hcg levels had dropped, and instead of being lower they were higher. They did a u/s on her and found the other baby.

The doctor will need to do the u/s to see for sure how big the baby is.

While it is possible to miscarry a twin and still be pregnant with the other baby, I would think that the pregnancy hormone would remain high if that was your sister's situation and never have dropped. However, ovulation can occur at an unpredictable time after a miscarriage. A friend of mine had a miscarriage right after I found out I was pregnant but then conceived very quickly and ended up having her baby 12 days after I had mine. They were both full term, too.

Unfortunatly, I've had two m/c's and you know when it's happening. The pain is undeniable. The bleeding is real severe and being that far along she should have passed the baby. I knew from the start of my first one what it was. They can do this ultrasound that is done with a slender camera that goes inside. They should be able to find the fetal pole. Also they need to check on the health of her uterus, if she did m/c. So tell her to ride her Dr. like a thong in a fat man's butt. I let them tell me "ohh, just wait" and I did and I lost my baby. I hope it all works out.

wow this very interesting but what i dont undertsnad is her doctor should have gave her an ultrasound she cant just have a miscarriage and thats it. Her doctor should have gave her a ultrasound or something because everthough the baby has died you still have the placenta where the baby is at and the doctor has to get that out something isnt just making sense here she has a bad doctor or you just left out some details

This same exact thing happened to my wife. The doctor kept sending her home and telling her to prop her feet up. It turned out to be a tubal pregnancy that nearly took her life. She should insist that her doctor run the gamut of tests.

It's too difficult to tell from your description. Sounds like she may have to wait until the ultrasound.
