It happens to the best of us...talk to your doctor or physician. You don't want to end up drowning your baby because you ignored the warning signs.

Is your depression tied to any events in your life? Also, you don't mention how old you are. If you are young, sometimes depression can hit you because for the first time, you are experiencing stressors that you are supposed to deal with on your own.
If your depression continues for a long period of time, becomes worse and/or leads to any harmful thoughts (hurting yourself, others, etc.), get help. I have had depression for over 20 years and I'm not saying it will go away, but generally, it does become somewhat easier to deal with. Medications and the like should always be the last resort of course.
Talk to a doctor if you feel concerned about anything. They will be understanding, and if they are not, find another doctor. Mental health should never be taken lightly.

Everyone gets depressed at some point in their lives. Nothing wrong with it now and then. Just depends why you are depressed tho. If it's just Winter blues then take comfort knowing you are not alone. Many of us hate the grey skies in the morning and gloomy weather day after day. If it's for more serious reasons then find someone you can trust to talk to. A problem shared is a problem halved. After all that's what true friends are for. Good Luck.

Your category is pregnancy. Are you depressed while you are pregnant or post? If you are, then you know that your hormones change and will cause this.
Try doing something new - if that doesnt work then maybe you need to speak to someone professionaly. If you dont feel you are ready for that. Find some spirtual place that offers some workshops and see if that works.

When are you due?
Post Partum Depression can begin while still pregnant. You should talk to you doctor and not let it get too far out of control. It is hard to be a mommy and be depressed at the same time.

First, there is no 'type' to wind up depressed. It can hit anyone. If your symptoms persist for at least 2 weeks, go talke to a doctor about it. There is help.

How long has this been going on? If the activities that normally make you feel better don't do anything and if you feel like you lack motivation, you may be clinically depressed. Talk to a therapist or a counselor to get a second opinion.

I have days and sometimes weeks like that. Its an awful feeling. It sometimes gets really hard for me to do simple things like brush my teeth and get out of bed. Push yourself really hard to go for a walk - stroll through the mall or sometime. Play your favorite music, ask a friend to kidnap you for a little while, if there is something on your mind write it in a journal. Good luck! Have a good day! :0)

They say it's only a real problem if it lasts more than a few weeks. Talk to your Doc. I never thought I would be either, but here I am. The fact that you know you are, is a good start.

i used to be sad a lot, and then i found jesus, and ever since (while I'm not always over the moon) i have always had Him to talk to when I've been down. before I was a Christian it was a lonely and unsure place to be; not knowing the point of life. it takes a step of faith, but was the best thing i've ever done. i believe that knowing and serving god is the answer to everything, and especially your problem.
i know this might be the answer you were expecting, but please think about it.
