Hi, sweetheart.
Honey, you look great today!
She's the cream in my coffee.
Hello, sweetie-pie.

"Love's Philosophy"*
by P. B. Shelley

The fountains mingle with the river, 1
And the rivers with the ocean, 2
The winds of heaven mix for ever 3
With a sweet emotion; 4
Nothing in the world is single, 5
All things by a law divine 6
In one another's being mingle-- 7
Why not I with thine? 8
See the mountains kiss high heaven, 9
And the waves clasp one another; 10
No sister flower would be forgiven 11
If it disdained its brother: 12
And the sunlight clasps the earth, 13
And the moonbeams kiss the sea-- 14
What are all these kissings worth, 15
If thou kiss not me? 16

*P. B. Shelley's "Love's Philosophy" abounds in the use of local metaphors. Conventional metaphors are employed in the text and they are sculpted into the composite metaphorical conception for a given target space, which is hinted by the title of the poem, "Love's Philosophy."
