The koala or Phascolarctos cinereus is a native marsupial to Australia. They are not bears. The name koala is said to derive from Aboriginal words meaning "no drink" since most of their water needs are met from their food, the eucalyptus or gum trees. They live high up in the eucalyptus trees, usually coming down only to switch trees. Once hunted to the point of extinction due to their dense fur, they were protected and hunting them is now illegal. They face the threat of extinction again due to the loss of habitat. They only eat from a small number of the many eucalyptus varieties so simply relocating them is not an option. They also face problems from disease. Chlamydia is a real threat to the species.

I like tigers. The scientific name is Panthera tigris. They only live in Asia. They are very endangered and many types are extinct. (How many sentences is a paragraph?)
