Bush attended Phillips academy in Mass. At Phillips, Bush played basketball, baseball, and football. He was known for being head cheerleader and commissioner of the intramural stickball league.
At Yale he was a varsity cheerleader and played intramural sports.

There's reading, and then there's retention. If reading implies literacy and knowledge, it follows one would have proper diction and accurately discuss fundamental concepts and details. I suspect he played most sports that guys do growing up. He was not big enough to play football in college so he became a cheerleader and I salute him for doing that. I played college football and soccer.
