Today my religion teacher told me that 85% of our brains hold information about our previous life, and that our dreams are based upon them.
Tomorrow we will be watching a movie about this doctor who hypnotizes his patient in his sleep to find out what he was in the life before the one he is living now.

Sounds cool and all, but how many of you actually believe you were something or someone else before the life you live now?

lol that's what I thought too.
But it sounds cool, if it can be real.

Yeah, my teacher is a real nut case.
You should hear about the things he believes in...

I definitely do. There is plenty of support for the topic, too, which does not convince everyone, but definitely convinces me. I also think that our "intuition," or that gut feeling that we get sometimes is because subconsciously our brain is telling us something we've already learned in a past life. If you're at least open about looking up a couple books on the topic, two of my favorites were written by Dr. Michael Newton and Dr. Bruce Goldberg.

I don't personally believe that personality transcends death that way. My own wacky theory would suggest that your past lives are actually energy imprints in your inherited genes. The genes have an electrochemical imprint that is felt conceptually and perceived as a past life. When you consider other strongly inherited traits is it impossible to think that you inherit those pieces of others, the pieces that make them who they are to the core, the experiences and the LIFE they experienced as a whole. I only think this could be inherited, not transferred randomly. This would make your past lives your ancestry essentially being felt and recalled inside you via electrochemical energy.

Please understand that I have not really looked into any authentic past life documentation, nor do I understand much of anything about electrochemical energy and how the brain process or translates it. I'm going to check the web now - I'm sure this will be interesting!

I checked on line - there is really not too much substantiated on adults - but on children there is authenticated past life experiences that are also theorized as psychic sensitivities. And I apparently was not too far off on my theory as crudely as it is written, some research has suggested memory imprints on DNA that are inherited and perceived genetically - Neat-O!

Today: Learn something new ;)

I believe in reincarnation of the continuous type. This keeps one in the reality of this universe, and is in harmony with the cycles of life, death and rebirth. Dreams I believe connect us to a degree to the spiritual realm, which is where I believe you go when you die. As to how much knowledge our brains contain about our previous lives, that would have to be studied. The main thing is, that if you had a focus for certain knowledge in a past life, it would be easy with the right new young body, to reclaim knowledge in a similar subject area and in an updated version, of the new time you where living in. You will most likely choose a body, with the genetics that makes your spirit function well. We will know more in the future though more research, and with the help of hypnotism.

I think that it's stupid for a teacher present something that can't be proved as fact. I personally don't believe this and have taken several college psychology classes and not once did they mention something like that.

I believe it! Then again, if you were, say, Johnny Cash in your former life, then you die and are reborn, then when do you go to Heaven? When do you become a ghost/angel? I believe it, but it's all a bit confusing.

No, I don't believe that.

Our minds are very powerful, but also very open to suggestion. If you are looking to find a past life, you'll find it, if that what you WANT to believe.
