No, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is not a cult, satanic or otherwise. We believe in Jesus Christ and that he is our Lord and Savior. He is the Son of God and it is only because of Him that we have the hope for salvation.

We believe that family and family unity are very important, whether our family members are members of the church or not. We are never encouraged to "disown" any family member. The only disowning I have witnessed is by nonLDS who disown family members who JOIN the LDS church. In fact, I had an uncle who did that to me when he found out I joined the LDS church. I tried to maintain our relationship, but he wouldn't.

You will find many people who claim to know about the church, but for the most part, their information is wrong and said in the most negative way that it can be spun. At best these nonLDS are just ignorant and at worst they are liars.

If anyone wants to know about the church there are thousands of congregations in the US and the world. Contact one of them and make arrangements to learn the truth about us. You can tell them you have no intention of converting, but you have some questions since one of the presidential candidates is a member of the church. If you aren't willing to go the church to find out about our teachings, you really aren't interested in hearing the truth about us.

I see no clarification why Mitt Romney could be any distinctive than what I witnessed throughout the time of the Bush/GOP years. i won't be able to have faith the GOP/Conservatives at the instant are not looking a real candidate which could make a distinction for the duration of those tougher circumstances. If the GOP/Conservatives agree Bush exchange into not a Conservative, why are they working Romney?

No or yes, I wouldn't say; however, some of the Mormon teachings border on being considered "cult" like. Their rules can make it very uncomfortable for someone who is not Mormon if a loved one decides to convert to Mormonisn. Basically the person converting would have to practically "disown" family members that are not Mormon. This may be a reason someone might make this statement. Religion, in my opinion, is just a way for a large organization to control people.

Don't buy into the christian fundamentalist ideas of everybody who does not believe in the way they do is an automatic satanic cult. I personally do not believe in the LDS church, but that does not mean I'm going to bash Romneys beliefs.

No. However, some of the particulars of the start of the LDS are pretty far-fetched as is the Book of Mormon, considered the 3d Book of the Bible in the LDS.

No! That's what ignorant people say about his religion! He considers himself a Christian. He belongs to Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints. In other words, he's a member of the Mormon faith.
