We want to teach our children to live in a diverse world and accept others differences - but we are not allowed to expose them to these difference!!!

I think that Political Correctness has gone way too far.

Christmas is Christmas, just like Hanukkah is Hanukkah, Diwali is Diwali, Kwanzaa is Kwanzaa.

It really is a shame that we now must attend "holiday parties" instead of a "Christmas" party.

I am not a Christian, but I have a great respect for all religious beliefs. I believe that no one religion is the only way or the right way.

I am extremely fortunate to work in an amazing multi-cultural environment. We celebrated Diwali, Hanukkah and soon Christmas and Kwanzaa. Followed by Chinese New Year.

It is truly amazing to share customs and beliefs with other people and learn about them as well.

I wish everyone Peace and Joy!

and what happened to respecting other's beliefs. people on here always get in a huge argument over the "merry christmas" or "happy holdays" thing. well look at it this way. ur kid goes to a catholic school so i would imagine that u r catholic and the kids that go to the school r also. so its ok that they use terms like christmas and use the colors to represent the holiday. but if they r performing for a PUBLIC school then there r going to be children and teachers of different religious backgrounds. so if there r a bunch of kids in santa hats and christmas colors they just might get a little offended. there r a lot of other beliefs out not just yours. u should be teaching ur child to respect those other beliefs

I work in a public school and today we were told that the concert next week is NOT a Christmas concert, it must be called a SEASONAL concert! I checked the skits and songs that will be used and they all relate to Christmas, but we can't call them that. I really think things are going way too far. If Christmas wasn't coming, we wouldn't be having a concert at all!

It's neither. I think you need to get clarification from the school as to why your daughter isn't supposed to be wearing certain colors.

They are doing a Christmas Concert but they can't wear red or green because they may offend someone? I think you need to check your daughters story. Not because I am shocked and outraged by the overly "PC"ness of it. It's because that doesn't make sense.

Are you sure she isn't supposed to be wearing the standard choir outfit of black bottoms with white tops?

Yeah...pretty sad that In a country built on the belief of God, our kids can't have Christmas programs anymore. I suppose it's a "holiday or Winter Celebration" So you're an athiest, or a Jehova...Good for you! I'm not even sure WHAT my religious beliefs are...But last time I checked, Our money still said "In God we trust". This was good enough for all of the soldiers who've died for our freedom, it's certainly good enough for my kids & I!! Pretty soon, we'll have to stop fireworks on the 4th of July too, because it offends someone. Guess what, I think that if the beliefs that this country were built on aren't good enough or are offensive....they should get the F out!!!
Maybe you & a BUNCH of other parents should allow your kids to follow these BS rules, but show up to watch wearing red & green & bells head to toe!!...Oh & say "good tidings" or some other equally Christmasy phrase! =)

If it's a Christmas concert it is odd that they can't mention Christmas. However, if I were a choir or band director I wouldn't let my students wear bells in their hair or red and green. Our choir whatever the occasion wears white tops and black bottoms or robes. It just looks better.

a touch long question that brings an entire style of components into play, yet to respond to the fundamental "headline" question the respond is. that is not age that brings the understanding that looks to baffle you, particularly, it fairly is "adventure" in having seen similiar proclamations and agendas, asserted to be common, that interior the tip lacked any validity. an extremely simplified version of this which you would be able to desire to be sufficiently old to do not forget is, Y2K. remember each and all the phobia-mongering of ways with a single tick of the clock each thing that had any connection in any respect with a working laptop or laptop became going to close down. entire electric powered grids have been going to flow black, financial establishments have been going to loose all their information and peoples debts could be completely lost. It became going to be a intense tech armageddon. What exceeded off? January a million 2000 dawned and each thing became nevertheless working completely. you maximum possibly do not remember the 70's, in those days each and all the "medical government" had the planet going into an ice age and glaciers have been going to conceal up maximum of North united statesa.. that is not age that's the antidote for gullibility, it fairly is adventure, and whilst age and adventure at the instant are not an identical factor they regrettably in many cases go hand in hand. @acidman1 you particularly contemporary a particularly authentic illustration of the mentality of the two sides of the priority. one factor i might factor out nevertheless is that there became a discourse between the two sides over the reward of the worldwide warming debate. Then approximately 2 years in the past the alarmists/heaters grew to grow to be reluctant to proceed the communicate and issued the proclamation that "the technological understanding is settled and the controversy is over, AGW can now not be denied". considering then a lot of them have become conceited and elitist and fairly grow to be irate if all and sundry dare to dispute or perhaps question the claims of their scientists. i'm keen to proceed the communicate, besides the undeniable fact that i visit insist that each and one and all factors of the priority be in contact interior the communicate. Debating no remember if or not there is AGW is pointless except there is likewise an ingredient of the controversy that addresses what the conceivable techniques to alleged AGW are and what it is going to value to enforce those techniques.

I find it quite ridiculous. If it is a Christmas concert, then Christmas should be allowed to be mentioned. Even if it is a "holiday concert", then again Christmas is a holiday celebrated by many. To be truly PC they should use various aspects of different religious holidays in the concert.

Besides we all know Christmas has become a major secularized holiday. Even my atheist friend celebrates Christmas, just because he finds alot of the festivities to be fun.

I'm Christian, but religion does not belong in public schools. I do think it's ridiculous that you can't wear red and green since that had nothing to do with religion or the promotion thereof.

I WOULD THINK THAT WITH A PUBLIC SCHOOL YOU HAVE SO MANY DIFFERENT CULTURES THAT PRACTICE DIFFERENT BELIEFS AS WELL AS THOSE THAT DON'T PRACTICE ANYTHING AS THEY ARE ATHIEST. WHO KNOWS MAYBE EVEN GANG COLORS FOR THAT REASON. ANYWAY YOU LOOK AT IT THEY'RE JUST SAVING THEIR BUTTS FROM ANY COMPLAINTS FROM STUDENTS FAMILY MEMBERS.. WHAAAAAAAAAA... A BUNCH OF CRYBABIES..

WHATTTTTTTTTTTTTTT ???? NO RED/GREEN GARB ONTOP OF NO MENTION OF CHRISTMAS OR SINGING ABOUT CHRISTMAS. WHY BOTHER GOING IN THE FIRST PLACE. YOU MIGHT AS WELL TELL THE NUNS TO TAKE THEIR HABITS OFF AND NOT WEAR CROSSES... WHAT DID THEY EXPECT TO COME FROM A SO CALLED "CHRISTMAS CONCERT- FROM A CATHOLIC SCHOOL"
