no

You need an DSL Modem which most Internet Service Providers (ISP) often include with the deal.

A Router is used to - well - route the stuff to the correct computer if you have more then one.

A lot of DSL Modems have inbuilt Routers

So - If you are connecting to DSL using more then one computer you need a DSL Modem and a Router. These devices are often combinned into one device.

There is a way to connect two computers - but not more - that does away with the Router. Its called Internet Connection Sharing but it does not seem to be used much now that Routers are so cheap.

only 1 router is needed. The router will have instructions, but you need to run an ethernet cable from the DSL modem to the internet or wan port of the router. You need to configure the router to secure your wireless and then you can have the laptop with its wireless card pick up the signal.

No, one or the other, as long as they are Wireless routers. Then, read the Router User Manual.

To connect using your laptop, read the Laptop user Manual.

Follow all instructions and How-Tos to the letter in both manuals.

Still stuck? Call your ISP, that's what they do.

Get only one router. First configure ur router by connecting it using a lan cable to ur laptop. Set security keys. After that u can connect ur laptop through wireless.
