Like there is a test for college students taking Chemistry called ACS, given to all chemistry students. I found this place who sells them, and study guides. I wanted to see last years tests to see what to study, and the study guide. But only way you get a copy is if your a teacher, so i said i was a proffesor . This organization is another state, and i wanted to see last years tests because there were no where to be found online or at school. I dididnt want this years tests ,just the year before. i also wanted the study guide to know what to focus mostly on. What can my school do to me if they found out i acted like i was a proffessor not even one that is from my school . Just made the name up, because i wanted to study. Will this be considered cheainting ? I never cheated in the class and never planned to , just wanted to see what the years before had, but every year they change the test anyway . All i did was use my brothers name and his CC to place an order. Used my brothers info.

They could expel you and it would go on your permanent record, meaning anyone who got your transcript would see that you were expelled for cheating (and you would get an F for the course as well).

I fear that you have done something immoral. You may have been thinking that you were doing something useful and harmless, but rules are made for a reason. Think if everyone was able to see the files. Seriously, if you can get to the test, why can't others do that too? If everyone could see it, nothing could really be profiled. It is a security requirement, and I'm sorry to say what you did was more than cheating. Teachers use those tests as guides, not as resources for information. I don't think this "cheating" will help you do any better on the test than if you were to study the material. The best thing you can do is to study with morality and try your best on whichever format your teacher may use.

Interesting to hear you had no intention of cheating.

It sounds to me like you did cheat. The publisher had rules designed to keep these materials out of the hands of students. You knew this and figured out how to get what you wanted anyway, by lying.

You seemed to feel entitled to more help preparing for the test than was available to your classmates who were unwilling to lie. You wanted to have an unfair advantage compared to your classmates.

If I interviewed you here at my company and I learned of this it would be a gold plated reason to not hire you. You are willing to lie to gain an advantage.

As to what your school can do, If it were my call I would flunk you if I learned of this. They can probably do nothing except talk badly about you in the faculty lounge and not write recommendations for you in the future.

You understand the point of studying chemistry is to learn chemistry, not lie your way to a better grade than your own efforts would have produced.

Is it really true that you had no other means available to inform you what would likely be covered by the test? Many school libraries, fraternities and other above board sources have prior year test files. Had you used one of these sources I'd think of you as a diligent student. They way you did it makes you untrust worthy and a self admitted liar..

Isn't this proven when you ask what sort of penalty you'll get if caught. You feel what you did is okay if you're not caught, rather than inquire if what you did is moral.

Sorry to nail you this way, but some things aren't negotiable., I've read that this sort of approach to personal honesty is common among today's students. Don't be mislead. It's not okay in the eyes of your future employers.

You might also want to work on your spelling and grammar. More than 6 spelling errors and countless grammar errors in you one paragraph. Perhaps you didn't study for your English test either but got the test in advance in your English classes..

If you don't see this as cheating then why bother asking this question? Why feel guilty about it? Why couldn't you just do what everyone else did and use the study guide like you're supposed to? This sounds awfully fishy to me. If you do get caught you could get suspended or expelled. I'm sure the school will see it much differently than you do.

They can deem it cheating and expel you... worst case scenario, anyway.
