You didn't hurt the clutch at all, because what happened didn't involve the clutch. That's the good news. The bad news is you may have messed up the linkage or most likely a synchronizer ring inside the transmission.

To better understand what a synchronizer ring does, go to: WIKIPEDIA, the free encyclopedia under manual transmissions. Luckily standard transmissions are less expensive to repair than automatics.

Sounds like its time for a new or used transmission and you might as well change the clutch while you're at it.
Sorry but this could be rather expensive, unless you or a friend do all the work.

You smashed the gears together. You are probably looking to get a new trans from the junk yard.

Sounds like you broke the trans. Very expensive.

sounds like something inside the transmission,
I would look at the shift linkage to see if it is messed up.
then look at the shifting forks inside the transmission, but once you take the transmission apart, you will likely see the problem.
