"The angry worker" sentence is a simple sentence. It doesn't have dependent or independent clauses.
The "Although I was scared..." sentence is complex. That's because the "although" part can't stand on its own as a sentence.
The "You would think..." sentence is compound because both parts, the "You would think..." part and the "but their anguish..." part can both stand on their own as sentences.

Hope this helps!

Nope, nope and sort of.

A simple sentence has only one verb. A compound sentence has more than one verb, but the two verbs are on equal footing; neither is more important than the other. A complex sentence, which also has two verbs, has one "more important" and one "less important" verb.

So the first sentence is complex--"bolstered" is more crucial to the meaning of the sentence than "decided".

The second sentence is complex--"found out" is more important than both the "was"es and the "appeared".

The third sentence is both compound and complex--"would think" and "was replaced" are equally important, but "would think" is more important than "would be" which is more important than "died".
