yeap, I think.
Parent's don't know or aren't educating their children about the true meaning of Christmas. Kids now think Christmas is about giving and receiving gifts and Santa Claus

its more about family but there is far to much commercially involved media which gives the impression of Christmas being more about buy this buy that as long as we have a good Christmas and keep the value of family in our hearts then Christmas should be kept at least traditional like a dinner and unwrapping pressies what have you /see the more the commercial side has gone it doesn't stop then the new year sales then the January sales its all the same just intensified over the Christmas period and that's wrong for people who cant afford the Sony PlayStation 3 the new iphones the general crap that they say you must buy in to any other time of year just more in your face about it around Christmas time in a big time way

Absoutely Not...
I doubt anyone over the age of 16 properly thinks it's all just about money, and decides, people hardly get money for X'mas anyway..
If your talking about parents then no aswell, I think it's all about coming together as a family, and celebrating Christmas..Even though some people dont know what were celebrating, they just have a gut feeling that it's something great and means something to others..

No, I think it's about family and friends and about showing you like people by exchanging gifts, I don't think it's about religion anymore though. I think we need Xmas as a break to mark the end of the year and to have a break from usual day to day life.

It is mostly about receiving and giving presents. The religious aspect of it has surely lost its touch. For example, the first thing most people think about when Christmas is brought up are trees, presents, Santa, lights......the birth of Jesus is probably not even a top 5 answer. For retailers, yes, Christmas is all about consumerism, no doubt.

yes and no.. it depends on how you see it.. yes things are more money and they don't last as long unless you are welling to spend more... but christmas is about being together with the people who care most about you and who you also care about dearly.. but you don't have to pay for anything to make someone feel special on Christmas you can always make something yourself and people will like that more than a peck into you wallet and see how much you can shell out on them and how much they didn't spend on you or the other way around. It's all how you see things and take things in... i'm in my teens and i've told my parents that i just want to be around my family and hang out with them and my boyfriend on christmas i don't care if i get anything on that day.. and my mom told me that i was nuts and i'm going to get something anyways but i don't really want it i'm happy with everything i have right now.
