Breathing in a slow, easy rhythm (5 counts in and 5 counts out) is a good relaxation method. Get up and stretch as well--sitting at the computer causes muscle cramping.

I have the same problem. I just walk away from the thing that is making me panic, take a few deep breaths and roll my head around (stretching helps relieve the tension build-up).

I've been told to concentrate on what's going on in the present moment. Count your breaths (but don't hyperventilate), focus on whether it is cold/hot, windy, rainy etc. Focus, on feeling yourself sitting (if that's what you're doing). Sounds kind of stupid, but sometimes it works.
If it doesn't work, there's nothing wrong with seeing a psychiatrist and taking an anti-anxiety medication (as long as you don't have problems with these types of medications.)

Breathe, just breathe and walk away for a minute. Realize the world isn't going to end. Sometimes helps if I grab a piece of paper and write down the pros and cons. 'If I do .... then .....' It's easier to focus on a problem when I write it down then to keep going in circles in my head and getting more and more freaked out.
