The majority of it is young teens who watch Disney Channel or movies and just think they can do the same thing. A lot of these kids have no clue on what becomming an actor takes. Another thing is fame, they want to be in the spotlight. I feel as some want to put their head higher than their peers as well. Kind of an "I'm better than you" situation. There are various reasons.

Everyone has always wanted to be the people they see on the stage and screen. Those people lead exciting lives compared to our boring ones. Those people are witty and urbane and we a dull and bucolic. Unfortunately the general public does not realize that movies and tv are just illusions and the actors are not the same people as the roles they play, that acting is tiresome, demanding work, and that they the audience members probably do not have the ability they think they have.
