this is a tough one... both are very talented. However I am going to say that I admire John Denver more because it takes talent to fly a plane into a public beach and not taking anyone out in the process of taking yourself out.
Sonny Bono just rode a cable driven chair to the top of a hill, hopped on 2 flat pieces of wood and "WHOOOSH" down the hill into a very large vertical toothpick... hell I could do that.
but I would not be able to pull off a Denver Twist

Sonny Bono's skiing talent. Before anyone realized he was dead, I'm sure that it provided a brief moment of humor.
Also, I think John Denver and John F. Kennedy Jr. must've taken lessons from the same flight school.

Maybe John Denver's piloting skills is on par with Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens. Though all three, and Sonny Bono, expressed these skills on a mountain. Hmm.

I would say that I admire Denver's flight skills... only because I already have skiing skills of my own, but no piloting skills. Of course... I'd rather be alive with my sweet living skills.
