i think she was either captured by the japanese or when she disguised herself as irene bolem...
what do you think happened to her?
o by the way the reason im asking these questions is b/c i just finished a book on her

I'd say she came across some tropical island paradise where they treated her like a godess and pampered her from head to toe. She said to hell with world fame and decided to end her trip there. Unfortunately what she didn't realize was that the only reason these tribal people were pampering her was to feed her and fatten her up for a canabalstic ritual where she would be sacrificed to the gods and her bones would be picked clean.

I think her plane went down in the ocean. I really have no basis for this except that she was flying over a lot of water when she disappeared.

There was a mixup in communication and she ran out of fuel trying to find the fueling stop. A combination of bad communication and bad navigation cost her life. No fuel, no fly
