"Majorities of likely voters in both political parties favor requirements on industries to limit "greenhouse" emissions"
http://www.zogby.com/news/ReadNews.dbm?ID=1161
On top of that, almost every Republican presidential candidate (and every one with a chance of winning the nomination) agrees that humans are the primary cause of the current global warming and we need to do something about it.
Since they're currently battling for Republican votes in the GOP primary, that's another solid indicator that most Republicans agree.
So if man-made global warming is just a liberal hoax, why do the majority of Republicans fall for it? Are they just stupid, or do they simply realize that global warming is a scientific issue, not a political one (and certainly not a hoax)?

I notice most of the conservative global warming deniers are not answering the question. There's a shocker.
Whether you like it or not, most Republicans agree with the scientific consensus. The question is not whether this is true, the question is why is it true.

it could be very surprising if it have been a hoax yet regrettably it somewhat is not. it somewhat is something it somewhat is been adversely affecting the planet for a pair of hundred years however the outcomes have been greater suggested these days because of the fact the warming trend maintains to enhance up. it somewhat is comprehensible that some human beings won't understand whether to beleive international warming is real or not as there seems to be info helping the two the case for and against international warming. it somewhat is nicely worth performing some homework here and tracing the 'info' returned to it somewhat is source. The arguments used to assist the concept of international warming may well be traced returned to credible technology from the international's maximum well known experts, the arguments placed forward to refute international warming have no scentific foundation and usually originate from the media and information superhighway sites that are produced with the help of newshounds and lay human beings. It would not help that interior the previous some substantial firms and oil agencies have been engaged in a coverage of discrediting the technology of international warming and to this end multiple incorrect information and fabrications have been released, a good number of which remains doing the rounds and trapping the unwary. base line - if somebody tells you something approximately international warming or climate replace then ask them to returned it up with reliable components.

Jury is still out on whether the current trends on worldwide temperature are caused directly or indirectly by human activities.
But, any politician that actually spoke the above words is almost sure to lose a large percentage of their potential voters, so, regardless of the scientific evidence, their personal beliefs, and any other influence, they are going to say whatever they can to ensure the largest number of votes.
Making the statement that the Republicans agree that global warming is caused by man made greenhouse gases based solely on their campaign rhetoric is not really based on a sound logical footing.
So, to answer your question, Republicans are looking for votes, not admitting that there is any validity to global warming.

nobody believes we should just pollute the world. (contrary to what liberals think) We should of course be as conscience as possible to do what we can. We also dont think we need to wreck the economy to do it. Or allow more governmental organizations to obtain more rights over people when the free market and capitalism can make headway in keeping the world clean.
Please show us where in your link it say a majority of republicans think man is what is causing global warming. ITS NOT THERE. It says they think we should take steps to insure a cleaner planet.
Your own link says this
The survey also indicated there is strong support for measures to require major industries to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions to improve the environment without harming the economy – 72% of likely voters agreed such measures should be taken
EXACTLY WHAT I SAID. BUT IM WRONG... FUNNY

I think that global warming is real, and I am a republican. But I do not believe it is as big of a deal as it is made out to be. I also can't stand Gore. And I have a question, what exactly is your argument, if you just said Republicans do agree its an issue?

Gosh.. why don't I ever see any polls asking people whether they would approve of having their winter heating rationed or their traveling limited in the interest of reducing their C02 output? Always easy when it's hypothetical.. and somebody else is supposed to take the hit. A different story when it comes home.

Regardless of if it is a hoax or not, people believe in it. Therefore, can you expect a hopeful candidate to NOT follow public opinion?

it's not so much a LIBERAL hoax as an Al Gore hoax. And not even a hoax, we are just smart enough to know that Gore blew it way out of proportion.
