It is going to be very hard to trade him after signing him to that 24 million dollar deal last offseason. He is due 19.1 mil over the next three years and other teams are hesitant to pick up a contract on a guy who hit .220 for most of last year. Inge has indicated to the Tigers that he rather be an every day third baseman on another team, than return to a backup catcher/utility role.

If they are able to trade him without having to pay a portion of his salary, that will allow the team to keep Marcus Thames and platoon him with Jones in left field. I think that is the best possible scenario.

The Tigers have 1 of the best, if not THE best, offenses in baseball. Miguel Cabrera just makes them all that much better. But the Tigers still have some pitching concerns. When it comes to winning it all, usually pitching trumps hitting. Therefore, since Brandon Inge is a good player, they can trade him, which they will, for some good pitchers. He's good enough to get an acceptable pitcher (starter or reliever) in return.
Along with Cabrera, they got Dontrelle Willis, but he has kind of disappeared in recent years. Are the Tigers getting the struggling disappointing Dontrelle of the last few years, or the Dontrelle who lit up the National League in his earlier years? Due to this unknown question, the Tigers need to continue to be active this winter in shoring up that pitching staff.

Inge will probably be traded. He is a good player and i would like to see him stay with the franchise but he will cost to much to stay. Inge will make i believe 19 million dollars over the next 4 years, which is to much for Toledo (the Mud Hens, their triple a team) and is to much to sit the bench to just finish games. The Tigers resigned Guillen, in which Guillen will probably go to first base. I would like to see an effort, even though Inge will be traded, to put Inge at first and trade Guillen . Inge is a much better fielder unlike Guillen who made 24 errors to Inge's 18. Inge is the person on that team that makes the replays for jumping into the crowd, or leaping up and making the catch. Where ever he is next year you better believe he will be proving Detroit wrong.

They will trade him. I know he is a good player and all but he has asked to be traded. Plus with Cabrera and Willis they will just do that much better than last season. I like the yanks but im sure the tigers will be awesome this season.

No, the numerous Tigers stay interior the high priced cities, removed from Detroit, yet Curtis Granderson and Miguel Cabrera stay out of state, yet they stay in a inn for lots of the season.

Maybe the fit for him is with the Angels for a pitcher like Weaver or one of the other ones that the Angels are dangling...the Angels need a 3B or SS and he would fit the bill but the Tigers need relief pitching and the Angels have more starting pitching to offer.

branden Inge has asked to be traded, because he feels he is an everyday starter at 3rd base. He has no wishes to play left field or catch. I believe the tigers will trade branden,,for some minor league talent,,but who knows,,we could always use another starting pitcher

The Tigers have indicated they want to trade him. The problem is that his value to the Tigers, in case of injuries or other unforeseen events, might be greater than what they can get for him in return. I wouldn't be surprised to see him on the Tigers next season.

Dude has a lot of value... I would trade him for some bullpen help, because it doesn't seem like he will be happy being a backup.

They may try to trade him, or they may use him as a utility player... He has proved his usefulness in that role before... He can play 2nd, ss, 3b, corner outfield, and catcher... he's a very valuable utility player.
