Ok so I am suppose to write an up to 8pg essay. It is suppose to be a satirical essay on modern life. I don't want to be mean. I am not good at coming up with funny stuff could someone help me with an idea. THANKS SO MUCH! I already wrote 2 pages but found out I was doing it wrong. Can some give me an example of what one starts like or ideas?

Here's a great example of a satirical essay (it's maybe one of the most famous). It's Jonathan Swift's "A Modest Proposal," and it's probably about eight pages...

I'm guessing that the teacher is giving you freedom of form for the essay (which is good); so you don't have a paragraph format you have to follow or a "you have to have eleven paragraphs with at least seven sentences per paragraph" type guidelines...right?
Finishing today will be hard, but here's some ideas....
Write an essay that deals with:
what will happen when everyone becomes so involved with texting, emailing, chatting, etc. that no one ever meets another person in person...(in other words how communication leads to isolation)
or
how America's dependence has caused it to become dictatorial (in other words how oil ruins freedom)(this one could really work well if you went metaphorical with say...a donkey achieving great power because he discovered (x) and then thinking that (x) will save all the animals, but when the animals start to use (x) they don't do things the way the donkey wants them to, so the donkey tries to wield some power only to realize that he's just a donkey.....
Maybe that's a start.

The best thing to do is think about things that heppen in your everyday modern life that really frustrate you or that make you feel uncomfortable. The chances are that other people experience these things too and by writing about them, you will make them laugh.

Do you know what satire is? There are many topics to write upon. Celebrities, politicians, over hyped products, etc.
