it is easy er to people to speak about something else than to speak about them selves.if they don't know each other well they speak about that kind of things.
i always say:"if you and i are speaking of movies, or music we will never argue, but if you are commenting my way of life or me we will never speak again":)

some people like to blow things a little out of proportion to get attention. What may seem like a small unimportant thing to one person is a big important topic for another. If they dislike something it becomes important for them to let everyone else know.

it makes some people feel superior. easier (and safer) to criticize than do something that could be criticized.
