Are you all kidding? Bankruptcy is a golden shield for people like Ramsey and his listeners don't know this? They don't file bankruptcy because they need to and they don't file because they didn't see their troubles coming. I see now why a man who blows nothing but hot wind has so many followers.

Oh, and he went back and repaid his creditors because he is upright and upstanding. Yaaaaaa right. I believe everything I read to the letter. There are no weapons of mass destruction either.

Let me see. He has ZERO debt and MILLIONS of dollars in assets. I would say bankruptcy is about as likely as winning the lottery without buying a ticket. That said, his advice WORKS.

PS. After recovering from his bankruptcy a few decades ago, he went back and repaid the debts that were legally discharged by his bankruptcy.

If he does in 2008, I'll keep listening... but if he does in 2009... i'm out.

Seriously, I don't think he's going to. What he teaches is common sense, and if you don't borrow money, you won't go into bankruptcy as you won't have debts to pay.

Yes, but only on the radio. I think Fox Noise is disgusting and won't watch him on that idiotic channel. Because he makes sense on a basic, down to earth, easy to follow way, people are being helped from all walks of life.

I don't think he'll be filing BK though. Interesting question!

People still listen to Rush despite his drug problems. People still love Bill despite the blue dress. People still give money to televangelists who are caught doing all sorts of improper things. People are forgiving -- so if Dave's audience was interested in what he had to say prior to his personal financial troubles I'd guess they would still be interested. Maybe the experience will enrich his understanding and improve his performance.

Personally I am unfamiliar with him and in general don't listen to any of these talking heads. I think their information is of uniformly low quality, dully presented.

Amen, STEVEN!!

If you owe nobody but the tax man, electric, gas and telephone company, what would you declare to go bankrupt? Maybe a better question would be if one of his kids went bankrupt, would we still listen. (I doubt that would happen either but it is a more "realistic" question than if Dave himself would go bankrupt.)
