life?

i must admit it makes me cringe, especially when you only associate with people your familiar with that come from similar backgrounds etc.

but then you get people answering you on here saying, ' im like you ' and ' we have a lot in common '.

it makes me so incredablly annoyed, because i like to select friends, im a clannish person, but when people persist in approaching you or emailing you, it borders on harrasment.

theres times i feel provoked into saying something extremely nasty and scornfull because the person wont go away...and cant seem to take the hint they are NOT wanted in my life.

i normally just cold shoulder and ignore them....but they persist in contacting me....or saying '' hey you and me have alot in common and i think you no we do ''

this is when i get exasperated.

i mean what are you supposed to do?

its not like you can batter them to death, batter them unconscience is it?

but technically i dont think their breaking the law so im not sure i could

You describe yourself as a person of integrity and honour, one who wanders in the desert.

And yet you want to cave in the heads of people who reach out to you?

You're obviously a very private independent person and your friendships will only work if you have selected them on your terms.

Well then stick to your clan if you must.
But I can't help feeling that a man of honour would find a little compassion for those who mistakenly try to be friends.

you will not like my answer but you could actually be direct, assertive and kind and let them know that you are sorry but you are not interested in interacting with them outside of the forum. it seems odd for you to be so upset at them when you admit that you have only hinted at something. do you know how difficult it is to pick up on hints in typed words? i think you are at fault if these people are still contacting you. it can be hard to assert yourself but it would be much better than typing what sounds like a very snippy mean question.

Just tell them that whilst you appreciate their interest you do not wish to enter into private correspondence with anyone. Failing that go into your profile and select "I may not be e-mailed" "I may not be sent IMs" thats what I do, ergo no harrassment, it is that simple, why leave yourself open to potential embarrasment, harrassment or abuse?

Maybe you should try to realize, that they are bearing their souls to you...trying to tell you, that you are not alone, in your pain. They matter also, and that is all they are trying to say...Don't take them like that they are trying to impose on you, they are trying to reassure you that you are not someone who is suffering alone, just trying to be kind to you, really...they are reaching out, to try to find a friend, because they are lonely also....love, try to look at it at a different angle..

Let them know clearly that you're not interested in a relationship with them.. and then stick to your guns.. even if that means you have to repeat yourself several thousand times.

Just ignore them, they'll soon get the message and go away.
