It sounds like your family is into strong military names for the boys! agustus is a name of a emperor (august, the month is named for him). did your brother ever think of naming his son after another member of the family or even himself?

I'm also curious what they call their first son for a nick name... excelsior is quite a mouthful... albeit an exsquisite one.

here's what the name means as best as I can determine:

XAVIER ( kind of sounds like exzavier or exzavian)
Gender: Masculine

Usage: English, French, Portuguese, Catalan

Pronounced: ZAY-vee-ur (English), ZAY-vyur (English), ig-ZAY-vee-ur (English), za-VYAY (French) [key]

Derived from the Basque place name Etxabier meaning "the new house". Saint Francis Xavier was the Jesuit priest who popularized the name. He was a missionary to India, Japan, China, and other areas in eastern Asia. He is the patron saint of the Orient and missionaries.

blaze
BLAISE (french spelling of blaze)
Gender: Masculine

Usage: French

Pronounced: BLEZ [key]

From the Roman name Blasius which meant "lisping" from Latin blaesus. A famous bearer was Blaise Pascal, a mathematician and philosopher from France.

These are strong names! the children that bear them will have to be equally as strong!

I personally really like the name exsavian... but I think I like it a little better with out the "ex" in front... just xavian (pronounced zavian) it sounds softer to my ear... but this is just my opinion so disregard it if you want :) there's also a really famous tap dancer who's name is savion glover... he did all the chorography for "happy feet" the penguin movie!

Those are awful names. Awful. I would be embarassed to be named any of those things or be associated with anyone named those names. Doesn't sound like the kind of name a doctor or lawyer would ever have, maybe a drug dealer. Totally setting those kids up for failure.

Exselsior Knight? I feel sorry for that poor child! Your brother has caused that kid tremendous torture for like the next ten years or better. Way to go.....Exsavian Blaze isn't as horrendous but hey it's his kid dude so whatever!

It's interesting...

To be honest, I feel sorry for his other son. Both of these names sound like characters out of some fantasy video-game.Blaze and Knight?? Honestly you should think through this.

Maybe Exasvian Blake instead?

That's child abuse. For God's sake, the child is a person, not a pet. If he wants to give something a "cool" name, he should buy an iguana or a boat.

It's awful. Why does it need that S? itd be better if spelled Xavian, or Exavian.
