Penguins are generally associated with living in cold climates, like Antartica. But this actually depends on the type of penguin. There are smaller varieties of penguins that can be found in warmer climates like Australia.
However, there are, as far as I know, no penguins which reside in the northern parts of the world.

No penguins live at the south pole, it is too far from the sea. The Antarctic penguins live on the coast.
Two species live exclusively on the Antarctic mainland, the Emperor and the Adelie. Chinstrap penguins are also found on the mainland but they are also on Antarctic islands. King, Macaroni, Gentoo and Rockhopper penguins are found on Antarcyic and sub-Antarctic islands. Royal penguins, a variant of the Macaroni, are found on Macquarie Island. New Zealand has the Erect Crested, Snares Island, Fjordland and Yellow Eyed penguins while Australia and New Zealand have the Little penguin. South Africa has the Black footed or jackass penguin while South America has the Magellanic, the Peruvian and the Galapagos penguins.

Penguins are scattered widely through the higher latitudes in the Southern hemisphere. The largest penguin colonies are found in and around Antarctica, but penguins also occur in South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, around the southern cone of South America in Chile and Argentina, and as far north as the Galapagos Islands.
