My friends and I are in our mid 20s and looking for something to do on New Years Eve in the South Florida area - Miami, Broward, or West Palm. I don't want to go somewhere that involves clubbing and hard core partying (most South Beach clubs). We do drink and love to dance. Love cultural events. Like games, but not kiddie type events. I want something free or under $50. Any ideas?

I just wanted to add that I had a fun party at home last year, but want to mix it up last year.

Go to certain website in your area that will have New Year celebrations. Usually certain areas will have a party that will cost at least $30 which includes diner, party favors, hats, champagne etc. Also, try to have a designated driver so you will be safe and sound in the '08. Wish you luck and I'm so jealous of you living in the Magic City.

Try the casino and Hard Rock cafe in Hollywood off 441.
I am going tonight to see Andre Bocelli. For News Years it could be fun just walking around and looking at all the people.

I was looking for something similar too. Hard rock has several events going on, a couple of em involve the nightclubs there.
Ft. Lauderdale has "Downtown Countdown" which sounds somewhat interesting.

Have a party at your house or rent somewhere if all else fails just go to church, now thats a good way to bring in the new year
