In "The Piano" does the woman live or die.?

I mean it shows how her life ends up when she loses her foot after being dragged of the canoo and in the ocean but then after that she's back in the water again so does she live or die?

also what were your thoughts on the movie?

She lives but is thinking about what her death may have been like. Interesting film -

Lives,it shows it in the end and it was her fingers not her foot. Her husband cut them off so she couldn`t play the piano again.
