My g/f had one of those T or Y shaped things put in as a form of birth control, how effective are those and after how long of being inserted are they effective???

Sorry I'm a guy what do I know.....LOL Yeah its an IUD, that rang a bell once I read some of the answers. Yeah she just got it put in (by a Dr.) in october.

They're are one of the most effective forms of birthcontrol and they're effective immediately.

u mean an intrauterine device. IUD for short. They work as long as it's in her. Like all other types of birth control there is a slight chance she could still get pregnant. about 1%. if u really dont want to have kids now, use a condom also. hope this helped!

That's right. It's an IUD and they are extremely effective, but she should really be careful with that. I think if they are in too long they can make you sterile (over 5-7 years) just FYI

umm i dont know what u mean buy the T or Y thing...if it is what i think it is it should of been placed in there by a doctor and it stays in for 5 years...but u may not be talking about that...idk what u mean. sorry
