Don't listen to the crazy Jesus Freaks on here, they are so blinded by the lies they don't even realize Jesus wasn't born in December and the only reason we celebrate X MAS is to cover up the the real winter Pagan Holiday of YULE and Winter Solstice!
The Christians have commercialized X Mas so much and have forgotten the made up meaning of X Mas and have gotten greedy!

It has to come from inside you. If you've got family, do things with them that you've done since you were a child. LIsten to your favorite Christmas songs, not what someone else chooses to play on the radio. Take joy in thinking of the perfect gift for someone and then getting it, thinking of the happy reaction you will see when you give that gift. Don't let the commercialism and nonsense get to you. Your spirit is within you, and you will find it if you give it a chance.

Even if you aren't religious, Christmas is a holiday that celebrates the birth of Christ, so start with saying Christmas. I find that the simplest things make me the happiest around Christmas time. First of all, it is still early -- we tend to want to make this holiday a three month ordeal. It is hard to keep the spirit alive for longer than that! Bake some cookies, go Christmas caroling, do something nice for people less fortunate (that always makes you feel good). There are many opportunites this time of year to do good things -- take advantage of it. Also, spend time around children -- their spirit is contagious!

If you just mean as the holiday, go out and live. Give to the needy. Put up a tree, make your house smell like pine, shop for presents. Eat candy canes, drink apple cider and hot chocolate. Put up some lights, go caroling. Listen to Christmas music, feel the spirit.

Do other festive things.

Read about Jesus in the first 5 chapters of the Gospel of Matthew in the HOly Bible, also the Gospel of Luke. It tells about his birth, which is why this is one the most celebrated Holidays of the Year.

Write Christmas instead of X-mas, and go to church.
